Remix OS, the popular Android-based operating system developed by Jide Technology, is now receiving an update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Along with some new features that will make the OS more user friendly, this update to Marshmallow also brings along with it additional device support.
The biggest news here is that Remix OS can now run on over a dozen more PCs and laptops than before, thanks to an increased number of supported NVIDIA and AMD GPUs. In case you’re unfamiliar, Remix OS offers a more productivity-focused, desktop version of Android. It provides true keyboard and mouse support, a powerful file manager, and allows you to utilize multiple resizable windows. Seriously, if you haven’t tried it yet, you definitely should.
Along with the update to Marshmallow, Remix OS is getting a handful of new UI features that should help users be much more productive. A new button has been added that resizes windows to optimize for certain applications, ensuring the correct layout is maintained. Also, video-based apps will now open in full-screen mode when you maximize the video, as opposed to staying in a small-framed window.
