- 4,688 participants (age ≥60) in the 1999-2006 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) and the Linked Mortality File were categorized based on folate and vitamin B12 quartiles: Group I (low folate/B12); Group II (high folate, low B12 or low folate, high B12); and Group III (high folate/B12).
