Apple has continuously introduced highly successful and popular mobile devices over the years, and there’s no stopping the American tech giant as it dominates the market with its industry-leading iPhone lineup of smartphones and the versatility of its tablet computer brand, the iPad. And now it looks like the revitalization of the iPad lineup is put into higher gear with the iPad Pro 2.
There was a lot of excitement when the company introduced the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, but based on a forecast by well-respected KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, that version is just one of the many that’s coming to store shelves in the immediate future. According to Kuo, via a note from Apple Insider, there’s going to be a new iPad Pro that the Cupertino-based tech company will be introducing in 2017, and quite intriguingly, it’ll be placed in between the large 12.9-inch variant and the smaller and cheaper 9.7-inch model. More specifically, Kuo is telling everyone that a 10.5-inch iPad Pro 2 is in the works.
According to Tech Radar, the 12.9-and 10.5-inch models are likely to be equipped with the newest A10X processor, while the smallest of the three, the 9.7-inch iPad Pro 2 will retain the current A9x chipset. So judging by this spec alone, it means that two bigger siblings will be more expensive while the small one will most likely be marketed as the entry-level variant.
But in spite of the promising changes to be enforced next year, Kuo is still under the impression that the sales of the iPad lineup will continue to drop. Nevertheless, Apple could eventually change all that once bigger changes are introduced in 2018, in which, according to Kuo, the company will start incorporating flexible AMOLED screens as well as other significant hardware improvements to the iPad, including the iPad Pro.
