An Israeli man was convicted on Tuesday of the abduction and murder of a Palestinian teen in 2014, after the court in Jerusalem rejected his insanity plea.
The court ruled that Yosef Haim Ben-David was fully aware of his actions when he was involved in the crime.
Haaretz newspaper reported that the primary suspect in the burning alive of 16-year-old Mohammed Abu Khdair will be sentenced at a later date.
Two minors were convicted in February of involvement in the incident in Jerusalem, which was a factor that fuelled tensions in the lead up to the 2014 Gaza war between Israel and Hamas. The minors were sentenced to life and 21 years in prison, respectively.
The three Jewish extremists admitted they had sought to avenge the June 2014 abduction and slaying of three Israeli teenagers by Palestinians.
Prosecutors said Ben-David had planned the crime, while the two minors, who have since turned 18, helped him.
