Apple iPhone 7 might have just launched, but rumours around the iPhone 8 are going strong. The latest comes from Barclays Research analysts who say the iPhone 8 will sport a curved, bezel-free design next year in 2017. This is supposed to mark the tenth anniversary of the iPhone; the first iPhone was introduced in 2007 by Steve Jobs, and Apple is expected to go big with the tenth edition device.
According to Barclays Research analysts, whose note was accessed by MacRumors, iPhone 8’s borderless design will mean these phones will sport the same size as the current generation iPhones. However, Apple will introduce a 5-inch and 5.8-inch display version, which is bigger than the current 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus series. The iPhone 8 Plus version will come with an OLED display, and Apple is relying on Samsung and LG, along with Foxconn-owned Sharp for this in 2018.
Earlier KGI Securities’ Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has spoken about the bigger 5.8-inch OLED display iPhone for 2018. He had said in his note the iPhone 8 will sport a new design and will come in an-glass body. Apple is also expected to remove the Home button in the next version of the device.

Another report in BGR claimed the iPhone 8 will come with wireless charging technology, and that Apple has tied up with Energous for this. According to the report, Apple iPhone 8 will have a receiver inside it, which will connect to a transmitter plugged into wall socket to charge the device. The device will charge wirelessly as long as you’re within 15 feet of the transmitter.
So you won’t have to carry a wireless charging pad around with the new iPhone and it will end the need for any cables to charge the device. An earlier report in Japan’s Nikkei said Apple will be launching three versions of the iPhone and the glass body will be developed by Biel and Lens. A Bloomberg report had also hinted how Apple was in talks with Sharp so that the latter could supply OLED screens for the 2018 iPhones.
