Apple has been granted a great number of design patents this month in Hong Kong as noted in ourarchives. They’ve won design patents for Apple Pencil tips, user interfaces for 3D Touch, Apple TV and Apple News along with wins for the Apple Watch magnetic charging dock and the new Apple Store Grove. Apple ends July with another round of patent designs covering the iPad Pro 12.9″ case and iPad Mini 2 case along with the packaging for the Apple Watch Sport.
Unlike “patent applications,” design patents published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office don’t reveal pertinent information about a particular design. All we get are simple visuals via patent figures as noted below.
