New Windows apps and games
European War 5: Empire is a turn-based strategy game in which you expand your empire in six different eras.
The game is fictional, but it mixes in history, as you command and meet more than 100 famous generals, 22 civilizations, and 90 military units.
While turn-based battles are the meat of the game, you will also have to manage your empire and troops. You may upgrade heroes, trade in the market, pursue princesses, and upgrade to a new age.
Inkodo
Inkodo is a note taking application that supports mouse, stylus and touch input.
It supports the usual features that you’d expect from an application of its kind. This includes options to add photos, and use various tools that assist you in the creation of notes.
The program supports advanced features which make it stand out. It supports handwriting recognition, toast notifications, options to pin notes to the start, and local network broadcasting.
A Pro version is available that unlocks features such as PDF import, image filters, and book printing.
Slack
The official Slack application for Windows brings team communication and collaboration to Windows 10.
Use it to access all team messages, communicate with team members or groups, access files and services, tools such as Dropbox, Salesforce, or Zendesk, or switch between different teams.
The app features a central knowledge base that indexes content automatically, and a powerful search to find messages or files quickly.
Vectr
Vectr is a free graphics app to create vector graphics. You can import various formats including EPS, SVG or PNG, and share designs with others for real-time collaboration.
Vectr is available as an online editor as well, and if you sign up for an account — for free — you can work on your designs in both editors.
The editor is quite powerful for a free product. It supports layers, freehand drawing, pen tools, and quite a few other tools and options.
Notable Updates
Diabetes Analyzer ships with new animations and graphs, interpretation of Glucose value, and reduced app size.
Readit Reddit client updated with “huge” performance improvements.
Strawberry Weather app update lets you choose the weather API now (Open Weather Map or Dark Sky). It features new options to get notifications more frequently, among other things.
