The Blackberry Arts Festival wrapped up this weekend and many vendors are saying this year was a hit.
The streets of downtown Coos Bay were filled with people checking out the blackberry takeover.
The festival featured live music, a variety of artwork and everything blackberry-related — from blackberry pies to blackberry tea, and even blackberry wine.
Some vendors new to the event say they were surprised by the turnout.
“Business has been really good,” Bayside Coffee owner Doug Veysey said. “I’m amazed at how many people, because we do the Wednesday market and it’s busy, but it’s totally different people because you get people that can’t make the market as normal and it’s a pretty fun activity.”
Paula Dansdill has been a vendor at the Blackberry Festival for about 20 years and says she was also pleased with this year’s turnout.
“Business from this year is up from last year. It’s a lot of fun,” said Dansdill, owner of Pad’s.
The festival fun wrapped up Sunday afternoon.
