The global leader in mobile communications, BlackBerry in the last month declared that they won’t build any smartphones and mainly focus on their software business. The company stated that they would fully outsource smartphone design and production offered under their brand. Now, the BlackBerry DTEK60 android phone, which had disclosed on many events previously, has rolled out in the market through third-party retailers.
The BlackBerry DTEK60 was leaked out publicly on the company’s own website accidentally before its official launch. The official web page consisting some specifications of this smartphone was soon put down by the firm. The smartphone called to be a redesigned variant of the TCL 950, has leaked on the company’s site and was even spied passing through the US FCC and the Wi-Fi Alliance.
Now after the official announcement by the company, the BlackBerry DTEK60 is ready for pre-orders through the third-party online retailer, B&H Photo at $499.99 (around Rs. 33,500). The phone was listed as “Coming soon” and the shipping time as “Not available” by the online retailers.
According to the vendor, the BlackBerry DTEK60 comes with a 5.5-inch QHD AMOLED display with 534ppi pixel density. The phone is powered with a Snapdragon 820 processor paired with 4GB RAM. The phone supports 32GB internal storage. It sports 21MP primary camera with PDAF support and an 8MP selfie shooter.
The BlackBerry DTEK60 houses a 3000mAh battery and features Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 for fast charging option. The handset runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Connectivity options in the smartphone include Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, NFC, GPS, GPRS/EDGE, 3G and 4G.
In the month of July this year, BlackBerry unveiled its second Android-based smartphone – DTEK50 and claimed it “the world’s most secure Android smartphone.” This handset features a lot of premium specifications like 5.2-inch full HD screen mated with a 1080p display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor paired with 3GB RAM, high-definition 13-megapixel rear and 8 MP front cameras, and a high powerful 2,610mAh battery for longer backup.
Moreover, DTEK50 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with BlackBerry’s own signature skin.
