BlackBerry business unit BlackBerry Cylance is launching a proactive endpoint behavioral analytics product to its portfolio of enterprise security. The new solution is based on AI technology BlackBerry acquired with California-based Cylance in a transaction that closed last month.
CylancePERSONA augments the AI prevention, detection, and response capabilities of the Cylance native AI platform, according to the announcement. The lightweight software combines continuous monitoring of user behavior analytics and conduct to identify suspicious users in real-time and prevent breaches.
“Every day, rogue insiders and external threat actors exploit valid user credentials to launch cyber attacks, so there is a clear need for organizations to ensure every user logged into their network can be trusted anytime and at all times,” says BlackBerry Cylance Chief Product Officer Eric Cornelius. “CylancePERSONA addresses this challenge. With a combination of flexible initial authentication, user-centric biometrics, AI behavioral monitoring, and automated active responses, CylancePERSONA delivers a scalable, efficient, effective solution that can ensure trust of the user is continuous.”
Many user monitoring solutions rely only on network traffic, or offer detection but not response capabilities, the company says. CylancePERSONA detects malicious and anomalous interactions to calculate the Cylance Trust Score, and apply step-up authentication or suspension if the score fails to meet a threshold.
BlackBerry says CylancePERSONA monitors keyboard and mouse actions, instantly identifies anomalous user activity that could indicate an account takeover, makes use of previous login activity such as location, time, and method to establish trust, automates user-centric responses, and reduces false positives using baseline user activity. CylancePERSONA also enables zero-trust integration with third-party products using the Cylance Trust Score with cloud-based APIs.
The company is at RSA this week sharing information on CylancePERSONA and other AI security tools.
Veridium also recently launched a behavioral biometric capability for its enterprise mobile biometric platform.
