Facebook has updated its Messenger platform and added support for its Instant Articles.
The feature lets the app load links in a separate messenger page, instead of opening them in a browser window.
Instant Articles opens up a custom simplified version of the article, saving the user’s data as well as loading pages much faster. However, the tool is only available for publishers using it. Media houses not supporting the feature will have their articles load as normal in the default browser.
Instant Articles for Messenger is currently only available for Android, though iOS users can expect the rollout in the next few weeks. Android users are receiving the update OTA, so manually checking Google Play will do you no good; just sit tight and wait for the patch.
