Honor has reportedly sent out invites for a launch event in China scheduled on April 19 and speculations suggest that the Honor 10 may be revealed in Huawei’s home country before its much-leaked international launch date. Previously, the Huawei sub-brand had scheduled an eventin London on May 15, where the handset was expected to be unveiled. However, as per latest reports, the Honor 10 will now launch in China on the same day that Motorolawill launch its Moto G6 lineup of smartphones in Brazil.
As per a GizChina report, a new press invite for the April 19 event has been spotted, clearing the date of launch. There have been a few leaks and rumours around the Honor 10, but the invite images reveal more details about the upcoming handset. The highlight of the smartphone may be a Twilight colour variant which we saw during the Huawei P20 launch.
As per the images, the Honor 10 is expected to come with a dual camera setup, a selfie-focused camera, and AI features. According to the previous report suggesting a May launch, the smartphone was expected to come with some ‘Beauty in AI’ feature. Now, it seems the May 15 date could be the day of Honor 10’s international reveal. With AI focus, Honor 10 could be a flagship smartphone, like the Huawei Mate 10 and Huawei P20 handsets.
Recently, an official banner of the Honor 10 was leaked showing the design of the smartphone. This report too claimed that the smartphone will come with a glossy Twilight 3D back panel. Also, the image did not showcase a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor suggesting that the phone may have it at the front. Additionally, there was a horizontal dual camera setup present in the images. The report had also suggested that the front of the phone might sport an iPhone X-like notch.
Meanwhile, one of the leaks had suggested that the upcoming handset will be powered by an in-house Kirin 970 SoC, coupled with up to 6GB RAM and up to 256GB onboard storage. Apart from that, the Honor 10 is said to sport a 5.8-inch display, possibly with a full-HD+ (1080×2160 pixels) resolution.
