Apple may or may not debut a new design for its iPad Air series. Since the latest rumors haven’t been confirmed by the Cupertino-based tech giant, tech junkies have to deal with speculations until proven otherwise.
According to the latest reports for the upcoming installment of the iPad Air series, which will be the iPad Air 3, Apple is currently redesigning the look for the tablet. It is to be noted that the tech industry was waiting for Apple to debut the latest installment in the series in October this year, but the company didn’t launch a new device and it kept mum about the fate of the series; instead, the tech giant introduced a brand-new line, the iPad Pro.
Reports say that the new iPad Air will feature a few upgrades, but the most significant change to the device will be the design. The upcoming tablet will reportedly be slimmer and lighter than the previous unit. Furthermore, Apple will keep the 9.7-inch screen, but will upgrade the display so that the device can project better graphics.
Since Apple launched the iPad Pro instead of introducing a new iPad Air installment, many have been speculating on the possibility of the series’ discontinuation.
Macworld emphasizes the confusion of having both series in the market. If the tech giant will launch a new iPad Air with a 9.7-inch screen, how different will it be from the Pro unit? Since the latest Pro unit is already 6.1-mm thick, will the upcoming Air unit be thinner than the Pro 2?
Whether or not Apple will continue the tablet series, tech enthusiasts will find out next year. Apple’s iPad Air 3 is expected to debut in March of 2017.
