Until now, Apple has not released any official announcements regarding the iPad Mini 5. There are still no clues if the company is planning to release it or not. The tablet was also noticeably absent during the company’s launch events this year. But, recent reports claim that the new version of the iPad Mini tablet is expected to arrive in March 2017 at a Keynote event.
According to reports, the iPad Mini 5 is expected to hit the market next year together with the iPad Pro 2 line-up. The iPad Mini 5 tablet might likely be released as an entry-level as well as the smallest model in the iPad Pro 2 lineup.
If ever the iPad Mini 5 comes out early next year, it may be equipped with a new A9 processor and an M9 motion coprocessor. The iPad Mini 5 may also sport an improved camera like an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 1.2-megapixel front camera, a 7.9-inch Retina IPS display with integrated 3D Touch. Rumors claim that Apple will make the device more durable so it will sport an aluminum chassis.
According to a report from PCadvisor, the iPad Mini 5 will be smaller and thinner compared to its predecessors and the 9.7-inch iPad Pro. The iPad Mini 5 might also have a 128 GB as its variant with largest memory.
It is unlikely that the iPad Mini 5 will have 256 GB since it requires additional cost to develop larger storage space. However, this doesn’t rule out the possibility that the iPad Mini 4 successor could have 256 GB storage.
Some rumors claim that the iPad Mini 5 would also feature USB Type-C port and Apple plans to get rid of the 3.5mm headphone jack. The tablet will have a minimum of 2GB RAM. Since the device would be launched next year, critics strongly believe that the iPad Mini 5 can be powered by Apple’s latest operating system in 2017 the iOS 11.
