Lenovo-owned Moto will reportedly soon release Android 7.1 Nougat update for Moto X Play smartphone. Motorola had released a list 15 Moto phones that would receive Android Nougat update and after the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus, it is now time for Moto X Play to get the new Android OS.
Interestingly, according to a GFXbench leak, the Moto X Play will receive Android 7.1 Nougat update, and not Android 7.0, which is available exclusively on Google Pixel phones. However, the update will not have the much talked about Google Assistant.

While Motorola has included older the Nexus 6 smartphone in its Android N upgrade list, it has left out its popular third-gen Moto G series. In the budget range, not many Moto devices will get Android Nougat.
