LAS VEGAS – Humana subsidiary Transcend Insights at HIMSS16 on Monday unveiled an assortment of new applications that run on Humana’s HealthLogix technology and data platform.
“Our solutions suite is built on the HealthLogix platform, which itself was built on the technology that Humana brought together through its acquisition of Certify Data Systems, nliven and Anvita Health,” said Kristin Russel, vice president of marketing at Transcend Insights.
The suite includes HealthLogix Population, which offers what Russel described as actionable results for health system executives and care teams, while the web-and tablet-based HealthLogix Care sits on top of an EHR to present view of claims and wellness apps and myHealthLogix is the patient engagement app of the suite.
The myHealthLogix application, in fact, enables patients and care teams to connect via secure messaging, manage care plans, and access information on illnesses.
Many of today’s IT tools are focused on caring for the sick, but for population health to be successful, a vendor must also include healthy patients, according to Transcend Insights’ Marc Willard.
“Our platform encompasses sick and healthy demographics, bringing the two data sets together,” Willard said. “So we can say, today you are pretty healthy, but based on our analytics you are a candidate for A, B and C, and we want to put you on a wellness plan now to keep you from getting sick.”
Many patients in the Humana population hit Medicare age every year, and Transcend Insights can analyze that aging population and show them paths to staying healthy, even if it’s just to advise them to walk for 20 minutes a day, Willard said.
Russel explained that the HealthLogix platform is built with Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources, the developing standard for interoperability.
She added that Transcend is also showing at HIMSS16 HealthLogix Market, an app-store-like offering that the company will launch later this year.
