This morning, Apple sent out press invitations for their widely expected unveiling of the iPhone 7, to take place on September 7th, at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco. The rumor mill has been churning uncontrollably for months, and it looks like the latest iPhone, some Apple Watch announcements, and who knows maybe even “one more thing” will finally be revealed.
Microsoft has apparently taken note of the date as well, and at least two somewhat cryptic tweets coming out of Redmond are leading us to believe that Apple’s announcements might not be the only ones happening on the 7th.And shortly after that, Major Nelson of Xbox fame, Microsoft’s Larry Hyrb, posted too:
So, unless Larry and Frank are just really excited to get new iPhones, it looks like Microsoft might be planning an announcement or two of its own. Could a Surface All-in-One be revealed? Something Xbox related? Or is Frank just trying to roust hard working tech reporters out of bed yet again?
What do you think, is Microsoft planning to steal some of Apple’s thunder? If so, with what? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, and keep reading WinBeta for all the latest news!
